These photos were taken on the first day of our San Francisco trip. Chinatown was walking distance from the loft we were staying at so we decided to explore the city and celebrate chinese new year early. There were paper lanterns strewn all over the streets and a farmers market type of set up. Vendors were selling traditional chinese new year plants, red envelopes filled with key chains, and little stuffed toy horses (2014 is the year of the horse). The streets were packed with visitors and I loved every bit of it! Tomorrow it will officially be Chinese new year. To all my fellow mandarin speaking friends: xin nian kuai le!
