(nasty gal round sunnies, vintage boys dress shirt, self made floral shorts, UO sparkle socks, miu miu mary jane wedges)

i love this ditsy floral printed fabric i found down the street from my house. i got it for $2 a yard, what a steal. i made these high waisted shorts for a school project with one thing in mind.. cochella. they would be so perfect for the warm weather and its a great substitute for the usual denim short. i added pockets, did a scalloped hem and waistband with 3 rows of topstitching. im crazy in love with it. hopefully i will have time to make a few more things i can bring with me to indio. the miu mius are new. they are surprisingly really hard to walk in. also i just scored these awesome marni rabbit applique cowboy boots. cant wait to show you guys.

i know summer is coming but i wouldnt shy away from knits just yet. i love lightweight knits for transitional weather, the time period between spring and summer.



wear a long knit cardigan as a mini dress




find a great pair of knit shorts to wear with lightweight tops




wear a long knit jacket with denim shorts




throw an oversized knit sweater over a ruffled dress




pair a knee length knit skirt with a crop top




wear ethnic/alpine print sweater to spice up the plaid + denim shorts combo


have fun playing around with knits as layering pieces for your summer look. the possibilities are endless.


i saw this knitted bike and thought it was adorable.. i want it!

(white v-neck tank and slash cardi from nasty gal, bdg jeans, UO neon socks, acne atacoma)

its always good to invest in cute socks you can wear as outerwear. it spices up a plain black outfit and adds to a summer outfit as opposed to bare legs. anthropologie, free people, and UO always have the cutest socks. also target usually has some great ones too. im pretty happy its been really warm the last few days. i found some really great patent leather miu miu mary jane wedges that look amazing with socks. i'll have to experiment with it soon. im still not having any luck with bathing suits for coachella. UO does have a few very promising ones, but i feel like its kind of rediculous to pay $200 for a bathing suit. but thats just me, i may have to try to make one instead. wish me luck.
