(Hendrix maxi c/o Poshsquare, Schutz lace up sandals, vintage hat)

Last weekend I had the chance to take a quick road trip to Joshua Tree with some friends. It was my first time there and boy was it hot as a mother.. At one point it was 107 degrees while we were hiking at the park, talk about perseverance! Despite the mind numbing heat, I was so happy to be in the desert and connect with nature. There's something really special about appreciating the beauty that surrounds you, and sometimes you just need to unplug and get away from the city life in order to do that. While daytime was mostly spent hiking and rock climbing in workout gear, the nights were reserved for hanging with friends in front of a fire pit roasting s'mores while star gazing. I was so happy when Poshsquare sent me this gorgeous maxi dress just in time for this trip. I can't think of a more fitting place to wear it than Joshua Tree. I loved the way the fabric flowed in the desert breeze at night. Coincidentally, Erika also packed a printed maxi for the trip and we were hardcore twinning while we stuffed our faces with s'mores. It was the perfect weekend getaway, with a really special group of people. I'm already going through desert withdraws..
